Dan Castell's wonderful short film Mourning Rules with Joseph, Olivia Poulet and Montserrat Lombard has been entered into the Virgin Media Shorts competition. It needs your help to promote it between now and July 19th and get it seen in cinemas around the country.

Between now and July 19th (at midday), we'll be counting how many shares each film gets and the one that's shared the most in that week will hit the shortlist. Every time you "like" a film, tweet it (with #ShortsLucky13 AND the full name of the film) or 'share' it on the film's page, you'll be racking up points for that entry. The film with the most points nabs the spot! So film makers, get promoting!

The Mirror website has added details of the storyline for Joseph's first appearance as Luc Hemingway on Holby City. It will broadcast tonight (in most places) at 8pm on BBC1.

EDDI makes the classic mistake this week of assuming a strange bloke she bumps into on the hospital roof is a patient. In fact, Luc Hemingway, played by Joseph Millson, turns out to be the new registrar. But you can sort of understand Eddi’s error because, unlike some of the other staff at Holby, Luc’s main priority isn’t

At last there is news about Joseph's new role in Holby City, which he started filming last month. ATV Today have posted some details. Look out for his first episode in early November.

Joseph Millson is to join the cast of BBC One's medical saga Holby City as new regular character, Trauma Registrar Luc Hemingway. Joseph has already started filming with the team at the BBC Elstree Centre and will be seen on screen from November 2011.

Joseph says: “I'm having a ball. Luc is a terrific part - he winds everybody up but doesn't have a clue he's doing it! I'm enjoying working with the Holby gang and hope the fans accept Luc into their front rooms.”

Joseph has previously appeared in Survivors, Sarah Jane Adventures, Peak Practice, and was most recently seen as Matt Beer in Channel 4 comedy Campus. Joseph has also appeared in numerous productions at the Royal Shakespeare Company and The National, as well as Love Never Dies.

Holby City’s, executive producer, Johnathan Young adds: “We’re delighted to have Joseph on board as our new Registrar. Luc is an enigmatic stranger whose diagnostic genius and acerbic wit make him a brilliant doctor but an occasionally infuriating colleague. Joseph's created an intriguing, complex and riveting character who will most definitely bring a new dimension to the AAU ward.”

Luc is parachuted onto the AAU ward by Hanssen, who has spotted the potential in him as a top class doctor, but his arrival causes concern for Eddi (Sarah Jane Potts). After an embarrassing first encounter with him puts her on the defensive, Eddi is left determined to get the initiative back at the outset of an evidently chalk-and-cheese working relationship.

Longtime Joseph fans will know that he previously made a guest appearance in a 2002 episode of Holby City.

A recent BBC Radio Drama newsletter provided more details about Pink Boy Blue Girl the Radio 4 Afternoon Play which Joseph recorded. It will apparently broadcast sometime in August, so look out for listings.

Film-maker Mateusz Dymek's first play for radio is set in Sweden and looks at the complexities of a couple who decide to raise their child gender neutrally. Starring Joseph Millson. Afternoon Play coming up in August.

The BBC Radio 4 blog has a couple of articles about Joseph's recently recorded drama Life and Fate. It is planned to broadcast the 8 hour dramatisation as a series of events, both public and on radio in September. More details are on the website.

Last month we announced that Radio 4 will be dramatising Vasily Grossman's epic novel Life and Fate starring Kenneth Branagh. During a week in September, it will take over every drama slot on Radio 4 - apart from The Archers - to tell the novel's interconnected stories about members of a Russian family during the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the bloodiest in history and of course a turning point in World War II.
